1. Introduction
Platinumaire LLC (“we,” “our,” or “us”) built ManagedPainCare to help chronic pain patients track their pain patterns, medications, and daily factors so they can better understand and advocate for their own health.
We take your privacy seriously. This policy explains exactly what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights. Plain English, no legal games.
2. Data We Collect
2.1 Data You Provide
When you use ManagedPainCare, you may provide:
- Pain level logs (scale of 0–10, stored as 0–100 internally for precision)
- Medication names, dosages, and timing
- Journal entries and mood tags
- Activity logs
- Photos attached to journal entries
- Your name, email address, U.S. state, and timezone (optional, for your profile)
- Sleep, movement, social, work, and stress scores (the Five Rings)
2.2 Data We Collect Automatically
When you log an entry, we automatically capture:
- Current weather conditions (temperature, humidity, barometric pressure, cloud cover, wind)
- Air quality index and fine particulate matter (PM2.5)
- Your approximate location (used only to fetch weather data — not stored as a precise coordinate)
- Lunar phase and distance
- Solar and geomagnetic activity data
- Device date and time (timestamp of each entry)
2.3 Data We Do NOT Collect
- We do not collect advertising identifiers.
- We do not track you across other apps or websites.
- We do not sell your data. Ever. To anyone.
- We do not use your health data to show you ads.
- We do not share your data with insurance companies, employers, or government agencies.
3. How We Store Your Data
All of your personal health data is stored locally on your device using an encrypted database. We do not transmit your pain logs, medications, journal entries, or any health data to our servers.
Weather and environmental data is fetched from third-party APIs at the time of each log entry. Only the resulting data point is stored locally on your device; we do not send your health data to these services.
4. How We Use Your Data
Your data is used exclusively to:
- Display your pain history, calendar, and patterns within the app
- Generate PDF reports you choose to create and share
- Identify correlations between your pain and environmental/lifestyle factors
- Predict future pain patterns based on your personal history (requires 30+ days of data)
We do not use your data to train AI models, sell to third parties, or for any purpose other than the features described above.
5. Data You Choose to Share
ManagedPainCare lets you generate PDF reports of your health data. Sharing these reports is entirely your choice. When you use the Share with Doctor or export features, you are in control of where that information goes. We do not send these reports anywhere automatically.
6. Third-Party Services
| Service | What it does |
|---|---|
| OpenWeatherMap | Fetches weather and air quality data. Your approximate location is sent to retrieve local conditions. |
| NIH RxNorm API | Used to look up medication information. No personal data is sent. |
| OpenFDA | Used to retrieve medication warnings. No personal data is sent. |
| Google ML Kit | Used on-device only to read prescription bottle labels. Photos never leave your device. |
7. Children's Privacy
ManagedPainCare is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
8. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access all data stored about you within the app
- Export your data as a PDF or CSV report
- Delete your account and all associated data from the app's Settings menu
- Contact us with any privacy concerns
To delete your data: go to Settings → Account → Delete My Data. This permanently removes all logs, medications, journal entries, and profile data from your device.
9. Security
Your data is stored using Android's encrypted Room database. We follow Android security best practices for local data storage. Because your data does not leave your device under normal use, the primary security layer is your device's own lock screen and encryption.
10. Changes to This Policy
If we make material changes to this privacy policy, we will notify you through the app before the changes take effect. The Last Updated date at the top of this policy reflects the most recent revision.
